I love words.
Some of my fondest childhood memories involve sitting on the floor with my father, playing Scrabble on the same game set he grew up with. When not carefully crafting the perfect word to play next or determining how to use my Qs and Zs on a triple word score, I’d spend my time between turns examining old score sheets, imagining my dad and his cousins playing game after game and trying to discover what specific letter combinations could earn such high scores. My dad usually beat me, but that didn’t matter – I just loved the words.
But what does that mean professionally?
I’m an Eastern NC-based marketer and copywriter with a background in public relations, digital communication and SEO. I’m an exceptional communicator with a practical understanding of how small businesses with limited resources can market across multiple channels.
As a freelance copywriter for more than 11 years and a former content marketing manager and marketing strategy manager with 6 years of agency experience, I have a deep understanding of copyediting, content marketing, email marketing, social media, search engine optimization, and other digital and print content offerings, as well as digital marketing strategy and analytics.
I’ve written press releases, crafted website copy, created pitch decks, built media kits, managed social media campaigns, produced a podcast, devised marketing strategies, planned content calendars, authored blog posts, drafted video scripts and much more. I am familiar with platforms including Wordpress, Google Analytics, Squarespace, Jotform, Mailchimp, SEMrush and more.
